Where do I begin? Throughout my childhood and teenage years I had always been pretty active, but I had never stuck with anything long enough to really immerse myself in it and I never really knew that there was much more to a healthy lifestyle than just exercising.
When I was in high school I began to workout mostly because of my self-esteem and also to give my mind a break. There was so much going on in school. That’s probably why I got really sick and needed a full month to recover. In this time I kind of lost my will and my motivation to start working out again. After a couple of months, I randomly came across a post, which described benefits of doing yoga.
I was sort of depressed before that (still not really sure why though) so I wanted to do something for my body, but was totally unsure how to start. I decided to give yoga a try but wasn’t even able to touch my toes. All the yogis on photos were looking so freaking flexible and I guess that motivated me even more. I started practicing and I have to say that since then yoga has given me so much. It didn’t shape my body, but it most certainly did shape my mind. I’m still just starting my yoga-journey, but the benefits are truly amazing.
Remember that I said that there is so much more to a healthy lifestyle than just exercising? Well, I made a conscious decision to live a plant-based lifestyle when I was 8 years old, but I wasn’t trying to eat really healthy until 2017. I still struggle with healthy choices sometimes and fall of the tracks, but I try my best, and I see so much improvement.
Throughout everything in my life, I now strive to be the best version of myself I can possibly be. I learned that living an active lifestyle, an abundance of nutrition and self-love are the keys to change your life for the better.
